News from Ireland - Martina Perinat

I've been in Ireland for 5 weeks. It was amazing, wonderful, fabulous, fantastic, perfect, brilliant!!!! I'll never forget this experience.

My school was St. Colmcilles S.N.S. It's a fantastic school. All the students were nice and friendly with me. The principal was very very nice as well. I had a lot of fun in that school and I also made a lot of new friends.

My Irish family was wonderful. They always wanted to have a very good time with me during the five weeks. I did a lot of funny and curious activities with them.

The names of my Irish family were: the mother Philippa, the father Frank the older sister Tiffany and the younger sister Lilly. They also had another Italian student called Benedetta. All of them were very nice. I think I was very lucky. We always were having lots of fun.

Finally, all Saturdays we had to go to Rockbrook School to take a bus that took us to Rosemount School. There, we had English classes in order to prepare the TP exam.

After that, we went to do an activity to have fun with all my friends. For example, we went to the Dublinia Museum in the city center, to the Aquazone (the biggest aquapark in Ireland), to Dumdrum shopping Center, to Jump Zone (a place full of trampolines), cycling in Phoenix park surrounded by deers... As you can see lots of amazing activities.

THIS EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING!!!!!

I had a great time in Ireland.

I have learnt a lot of new things that I didn't know. The first few days were a bit difficult because I was homesick but with the help of my Irish family, my parents and Erika (my teacher) I could get over it.

My family was very kind and they helped me a lot... I also played with my brothers and sisters and that was grand.
At school, I made lots of friends and I could improve my English and I played a lot with them.

My time in Ireland has been great.

I had a very nice family and the kids were fantastic. I had a nine years old sister who I was playing with all the time. I also had a three years old brother who was very cute and funny.

The first week was a bit hard because I was homesick but after that everything was great and time flew by!!!!!

I normally phoned my parents on Wednesdays and Sundays and I made notes with things that I had to talk about!!!! I didn't want to forget anything.

The best day of the week was Saturday because I could see my friends and do amazing activities. I also loved my Irish school where I learnt a lot. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! I had very nice friends at school like: Lily and Ciara who I keep in touch with.

At school I also had time to do the Spanish homework because the level there is lower than here.

If you could go, do it!! Its the best experience I ́ve ever had!!!! Why don't you try?

News from Ireland - Verónica Real de Asua

My experience in Ireland was amazing.

When I said bye to my family at the airport I was so nervous and really scared, but when I met my Irish family, I realised that everything was going to be great because they were very kind and sweet.

In my family, there were two girls who were nine. They also were twins. They wanted to be with me all the time. In the afternoon, we played outside with some friends from the neighbourhood. We were lucky because the weather was fantastic and we could stay outside most of the time.

I went to St Olaf ́s School and I was lucky because I was with one of my friends from Ayalde. Even though we were together we played with our classmates and we made very good friends and we are still keeping in touch with them.

On Saturdays, it was the best day of the week because I joined all the friends and we could be together and having a good chat. We made very cool journeys and good classes in the morning.

I am very happy about making the decision to go to Ireland and I am also very proud of myself. I learnt a lot of English and i enjoyed a lot too.

The last few days I was really excited to go back home but on the other hand, I was a bit sad to leave Dublin and my Irish family invited me to come back in summer.

THIS EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING!!!!

I´ve had lots of fun in Ireland.

The family in which I´ve been for five weeks, were very kind with me. The first two days I was homesick but after that time flied.

I loved to St. Attracktas School. There, I made lots of friends that I will never forget. Even though I wasn´t with a Spanish girl in the school, I was very happy. When the experience was over, I kind of wanted to go back to Bilbao but kind of wanted to stay a bit more too.

The best day of the week was on Saturday. My favourite ones were the second and the fourth one. We went to an aquapark and to Graphton St where we went shopping. I bought lots of gifts for my family and chocolates.

THIS EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT FUN!!!!!

News from Ireland - Ariane Retolaza

This school trip has been unforgettable.

It was brilliant!!!! The first week seemed to me like ages because I was homesick but after that time flied.

I´ve had a great time in Dublin and I improved my English because I learnt lots of new words and expressions. I was also lucky with my Irish family and with my class mates at St. Comlcilles School.

People helped me to join the groups at school and I was very busy there. Because of that I made lost of kind and funny friends.

Although Ireland is different than Spain, we could settled down with the great help of the host family and our teacher Erika. Ireland is colder, green and the people character and daily routines are different but… What a great experience!!!! These are the differences: Eating timetable, school time is shorter, School subjects are much more easier but it didn´t matter!!!

I also wrote lots of letter to my family and friends which can keep them in their memories.

I had lots of fun and I enjoyed the journey!!!! 'tóg go bag í', I also leart some gaelic words like 'Slán!', that means 'bye' and 'dia huit!', that means 'hello'.

Thanks to this experience I realize that I can survive abroad.
