Introduction

Ayalde is the educational base for girls of the educational group COAS in Vizcaya. It was promoted in 1972 by a group of parents who wanted for their daughters an educational style following what Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer taught. This saint of the ordinary considered a quality and innovating education should be based on a well done work, on the incorporation of encouraging methodologies focused on the people and on integrated christian values to effectively serve the society.

In the front page of the first brochure published to promote the school it can be read: "Ayalde, a parents business". This link - that still exists today- was one of the first distinctive signs of the school.

Ayalde is located in Loiu, in the neighborhood of Aiarza. The old weave that was in the area was dismantled a year before the school was built to host the first buildings, designed by the architect José Chapa. The school started with three hundred students distributed in eight levels, the following year the number doubled.

Due to this demand in 2003 a new pre-school building was constructed, and in 2009 the new building of Secondary School and Baccalaureate, as well as the sports hall.

Currently, we have magnificent facilities, including gardens, forest, sports areas and buildings in its 125.546 m2. The useful surface built is of 17.977m2.
Ayalde is part of the educational group COAS which is made up of ten schools in Vizcaya, Guipúzcua and La Rioja. Its experience of over forty years in education guarantees it as a reference in the local, autonomic and national educational community.
